I don't mean to hijack this thread away from the 1000 classic, but does anyone know of a good source for a '79 650 grab bar? Ebay has been a disapointment and the redlinecycle.com site mentioned earlier in the post only has parts for 900s and 1000s (awesome site though). I would be willing to entertain the idea of a sissy bar (I can't seem to make up my mind between grab or sissy bar) if anyone knows of a good site. I paid a total of $200 for the bike in the first place, so I am looking to spend as little dough as possible - otherwise I would just go into a metal shop and have one custom made. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

I don't know if this is original or not. It came in a box when I got my 78 KZ1000. It's about 16" long and 6" high. I am not going to put it on my bike so let me know if your interested. It's yours for the cost of shipping if it will work.

I'm sure they still sell those. Positive you can find them used. Be patient and when the bar is ready it will let you know.

hey jeff, old post fer sure. i got mine from someone here on KZR last year. in pretty decent shape. i also got a bar i "thought" i would modify that i didnt use. think it may be from a Honda. got it for shipping only. it was from "1978KZ" and you can see it pictured above. be patient and i'm sure an original one will show up for you.
