Should the silver part of the engine be painted or polished for an OEM look? Does anyone have any color or brand of paint recommendation?

clean and natural always looks most natural-- I'm not a great advice giver as to how to get her clean again, but with enough time, energy, and effort, you'll be lookin' new again.

P.S. nice "XJ" in the background!

There was no 'silver' part of the motor on a KZ750N1. The motor was a light gold w/black jugs. The motor covers were a slightly darker shade of gold. Carbs were also black. There have been folks who have attempted to return their Spectres' to stock w/respect to engine color but I don't know how successful they were. You might try digging through the previous threads/archives.
