Become one w/eBay as that is your best chance for scoring one and they are not that common there either. I have a 1982 GPz1100 and have found two tanks on eBay over the past several years...one was a repaint 1982 1100 tank and the other a 1981 GPz1100 tank. Tanks that resemble the 1981 KZ1100B1 tank are: 1982KZ1000R1/ 1983KZ1000R2/ 1984KZ1100R1/ and 1982KZ1100B2. All will fit the mounts on the frame. BUT, beware, the internal gas gauge mounts differently on the 1981 tank (it is a circular 5 bolt mount while the other tanks mentioned above use a oblong 6 bolt mount). So, if you wish to use the existing gas gauge, you must buy a 1981 GPz1100 tank. Expect to pay between US$100 and US$300 for a tank (depending on condition).

Do not forget the fuel return fitting on the right underside of the tank(I have one on my 82 GPZ1100 B2).

Since I have not owned a 1100 are any of the 750 tanks of those years compatable?

Might widen the sucess rate if they were.

I have had two tanks on this bike. The origional was mistakenly expanded via too much air pressure insereted during a leak test.

Strange seeing dents comming out not in. :(

KZ750R1 + 1991 ZR750 = KZR750R1

Good observation, the FI GPz tanks (B models, ZX750E and ZX1100A models) have the relief valve fitting but it may be missing from the ELR tanks (or have a fitting to close it off...don't know, never seen the underside of an R tank). So, if you find an old used KZ1000R tank, have the owner flip it over and look for a threaded fitting on the opposite side of the gas gauge opening. If there ain't one...don't buy the tank:)

No, the 1982 KZ750R1 tank is 2" shorter than the 1981/2 KZ1100B tank and mounts differently on the frame.
