I need a left sidecover for KZ750 twin LTD was created by Monty Burns79
I am wondering if a left side cover from an 81 KZ750 Y will fit on my 83 750 twin ltd? Kind of looks like it would i need a cover stat, it is driving me nuts.

Another one i looked at was for 1981 LTD 750. I hope this is enough info. Or if any other model could fit or be modified to fit i am game for any suggestions.
Thanks

81 LTD is totally different than 80 750 twin LTDt sidecover (I have both sidecovers).

The 80 750 twin side covers will fit on the 79 750 twin, but to use the 79 750 twin sidecovers you'll need the two little strips that bolt on under the seat also. Plus the 79 sidecover uses four tabs while the 80 uses three.

I've never seen any other sidecovers that look the same and will fit on the 80 750 twin.

My 79 750 twin has 80 KZ750G LTDt tank, sidecovers, and tail, on it.

Don't know why my camera makes things look rusty when they aren't :S

And I don't know what a KZ750Y is, never heard of one.

I'm a bit confused about the '81 part... there *was* a couple "Y" model twins, but they were in '82 and '83. Here, take a look at this from the '83 manual supplement (the pic was a bit big to post directly here):

...so anyway, if he means a sidecover from a '82 Y, it might very well fit the '83 K (I think that's what he means).... but I don't know...

The "LTD" part in the original post threw me off, Kawasaki refers to the 80 750 twin as a LTD, but refers to the 83 as a KZ750 Belt (and the 82 as a CSR).

Looks like the Y model was a European bike, maybe the original poster is in Europe.

I wonder if there was an 81 750 twin in Europe?

At least I got it right in his other "83 KZ750 LTD left side cover" thread in this forum :D :D

You'd think I would have remembered answering the same question before. :S

..yeah, but get this.... I've seen where mother Kaw lists the '76-'79 "B" models as LTD's (most notably, in the now-gone old-days version of the parts diagrams on buykawasaki.com), and the "G" model as LTD II... not sure why it was "two" honestly I think they used the whole "LTD" moniker to mess with us...

Just can't trust Kawasaki any more :D

The 1980 750G sidecovers say "LTDt" on them, and I thought that would stand for "LTD twin" to separate it from the 80 KZ750H LTD four cylinder model.

Just my guess though :)
