Fuel Tank to Fit on 79-80 MKII Frame??

Does anyone know of another model fuel tank that will fit the 79-80 KZ1000 "A" frame? I have swapped LTD/1000/900 tanks before but not on the MKII frame.

I have finished my MKII project and can't wait any longer for the painter:angry: I NEED TO TRY THIS THING!! I need a way to carry some fuel for a test ride. I could probably borrow a tank or may get a cheap one on eBay if I can find one that fits.

If you just want to ride it around the block you can use any tank and just bungy it down. :P

I use a plastic snowblower tank to synch the carbs, that holds about a quart, enough for a short ride. Just bungie it to the handlebars. It has an inline shutoff in it and hoses for any application. I have a 78 reg KZ tank on my 80 LTD but have no idea if the frames are the same

If an 'ST' tank works (and I think it will), I've got one.

Update: '78 A2 tank fits on well enough to ride it. It seems to line up with the mounting points but doesn't have enough clearance to fit on completely. The MKII must have a little more clearance up underneath. I think you probably could use it without any problems.

Thanks! I've been wanting to do a nice write up in the projects section, but just haven't had the time. I took a lot of photos throughout the process. I'll try to get something posted soon.
