If your looking for a quick decent shine with out taking everything off the bike, try Mothers and 00 Steel wool. I tried the MOthers ball and was not all that impressed. Great for getting into tight areas but not a great shine. I think a previous post already mentioned the beer, which never fails to work.

someone mentioned never-dull as a good refurber.i have had great results and if i can remember to not be in a hurry and to quickly throw away the never-dull cotton wad and then wipe it alot with a CLEAN rag in a buffing and refolding the rag process it works better.then repeat -repeat-repeat...i got a supertrapp canister that will blind you...i have had never dull blur chrome so i don't recomend.elbow grease is the key peace craig

Never dull is actually Brasso.

If you served in the brown or black boot army you used Brasso.
If you served in the Navy it was Never Dull.

I served in both and have had extensive use of each product.

We used brasso with news paper to shine our brass in the Army.

I would think the brasso is cheaper since there is no cotton. Roy

For the really tough brass jobs on the ship, we'd also use double strength "bug juice". Seeing how well it cleaned the brass kinda turned me off to drinking it. ;)
