4" buffing wheel on Drill with Tripoli rubbing compound (medium aluminum cut) finished of with white (bling).

For deep scratches, as mentioned some 600-1500 grit first. I've also used the Emory compounds (deep cut) which seemed to work followed up with the Tripoli then white.

whats the beer for, so you can forget what a shitty job it is, personally i believe in black wrinkle finish or flat satin black engine paint.

I'm pretty sure the aluminum brightener I have used was diluted muriatic acid.

It's been awhile though, so maybe I'm mistaken.
