I recovered my seat when it was ripped, and added some foam and made it a two level. I took pics, I should post them.
It doesn't look professional, but it looks a lot better than the torn one.

I second RetroRice. I did mine for $20, including some new foam and I picked out some discounted but very nice material. It was the very end of the bolt and the store was trying to get rid of it but it was just *barely* enough for my needs (provided I didn't screw up).
If your seat is even remotely in one piece (and you feel like taking the time) take your cover off, carefully open the stiches and use it as a patern. Sew your new seat together, stretch it tightly over your seat and use a heavy staple gun to secure it. Be careful of the length of your staples, it's too easy to overshoot and penetrate your new cover.

Oh, that line on the seat near the tank is a dust line. I had my jacket laying on the tank while I was doing some wood work in the garage...

I like that - I think you did a great job. I've been planning on visiting the fabric store pretty soon to find something.

I too checked with an upholsterer, and was quoted 30 bucks for a basic cover installed and glued.
Got the price up to 60 dollars now with some material upgrades and custom padded stitching. I will post a pic when it is done.
