cafe seat for two?
13 Jun 2008 22:19
I love the looks of the cafe racers rear ends. the problem is that I want to be able to throw my wife on the back and hit the pavement at times. Has anyone seen or heard of or has a cafe version of a two seater? I would love to see pics or hear any ideas.

Just put any seat made for 2 people on there.
Its not going to mess up the looks of a cafe racer    anyway.

Here was my solution to that problem. I sold this bike last year but have a few more pictures if it helps. But in the picture where the arrows are was a seperate part of the seat that could be removed. It was basically just a shell I covered in leather to match the flat seat I made. It worked good. So with this I got the best of both worlds.

I actually made the whole back end including seat pan. The front fairing was a one off piece I made also.

Here is my attempt at a cafe seat for two. I just reshaped and recovered my king and queen. It was my first attempt at sewing a cover so please be nice.

As far as Im concerned as long as you tried and it seems to look nice. Next time you will know what to do different and what not to do at all. so is the back part the second seat?

The old queen part of the seat was reshaped and covered white. The seat is the original pan and foam.

I don't remember where it was but I recently saw a post with pics where a guy just bought a second seat. He used it to make his cafe seat and tail. Then had connectors located where he could unplug the lights, pull the 2 seat pins, and stick the original seat back on. He said the swap only took about 5 min from one to the other. It looked pretty sharp.
