Painting flimsy plastic

My buddy saw what I did to my bike, and now wants to paint his.

It is a dirt bike, and the front fender is not meant to be rigid.

I was wondering if he could expect the paint to reasonably adhere to the flimsy plastic parts. Sanding with 60 grit with a circular sander first?

I expect the paint would crack and peel once that fender starts bouncing around.

The krylon works good.
Also, you can buy 'adhesion promoter' to spray on before you primer and paint. It helps the paint not crack on flexable plastic.

Pactra makes a paint for lexan RC car bodies that bonds to most plastics. It comes in 2/3oz bottles for airbrushing, or the standard mini rattlecan.

Lexan RC bodies as you know are EXTREMELY flexible, and the Pactra paint never chips or peals

Check the local RC/Hobby shop, or online for it.

One thing to consider though, it comes out as a FLAT paint since it is supposed to be used sprayed to the inside of the body. But a standard rattlecan of clear enamel should then bond to the Pactra paint.

You may get away with adding a flexant to your auto paint, But I'm not sure how much it will give without cracking.
Good luck.
