Actually, with some careful sawing and grinding, you can make a good looking one using your existing fender. Just shorten the ends of the fender to the length you want and form them with a grinder. That way you still have the center bracing for the forks and except for your time spent dong it the price is right.
78 650-C2, Stock engine, Jardine 4-2 Exh., 17-38 sprockets, dyna ignition and coils, coil wiring mod, carb mod.

I used a tail light from an '02 Yamaha R1 (ebay). It has integrated brake and tail light LEDs and fits under the duck tail quite nicely. There are two mounting holes on the light itself and I added additional bracing with a couple of L-brackets cut out of sheet metal. Pretty simple mod.

I did it similar to sramsey216's as well.
