tracy body was created by jus1975
Did they make a tracy body for kz's? All the ones I see are for the triples. Do they still make them? Where can I find one? And does anybody have a pic of a tracy body on a kz.

What year and model KZ are you looking to put a Tracy body kit on?
When you get a chance, please update your profile to include this info. Doing so helps get any future questions you may have answered faster. ;)

If it's a KZ650, I believe kawsakiman has a really nice unpainted one he might sell to you.

Here's one listed on eBay that fits a 900/1000.

Is that just for racing? Seems like a PIA if you want to get to battery or fuses. Would you have to remove the whole thing to do that? If so I'd hate to do that roadside with removing the seat, tank, sidecovers and tail! Besides how would you get to your tools? I guess I just answered my own question.....nevermind...:woohoo:

mine has no cracks.
still kinda up in the air whether i want to run it or sell it.
if i had a seat for it it would be a non issue.
i'm just having a hell of a time chasing down a orginal seat for it. i could have one made for it but it will cost me and i'd rather sink the money into the engine

so i guess bottom line is that if the offer was right, it would be in a box to make someone else happy.

unless someone has a nice trac dynamics swingarm for a 1000 they want to trade?

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

its for a kz1000. How is the tank intergrated? Is it a steel tank with glass fabbed over.

No doubt. It's more of a practical thing I ask. Lets say you're riding and a fuse blows. I carry fuses in my tool caddy. I lift the seat get a fuse, pop off the sidecover and replace. For that matter anything I need to do I can get at my tools in about 5 seconds. It just looks to me with a Tracy I need the tools to get it off and I need to undo the gas line, and lift off the tank full of gas. I believe you it's easy and all but I just think it sure is easier with separate pieces. Looks like it's geared more towards racing than street use. That is another question from jus1975.. the tank, is it just glass or glass over metal? As a racing item anyone know what kind of weight difference is had by a Tracy as opposed to conventional bodywork and tank? If any? Glass can be heavy and only the tank in conventional is metal and rest is plastic. I like the looks of them too. Just trying to figure out the uses, benefits and drawbacks.

There is one for sale on eBay right now. It is eBay item number: 350035616694

He's been trying to sell it for a while and this time he has - evidently - decided to say 'screw it' and just let it go. It's at $10.50 right now, with no reserve.

The Tracy weigh as little as 7 lbs. The older ones weigh a little more. The whole piece is fiberglass except the petcock and the mounting hardware.
Some Tracy bodies have a compartment to stash your tools and extra fuses.
And if you had a short to find you only remove one bolt to access the whole bike instead of removing the tank and side covers.
To each his own. My bike is still set up for side covers and gas tank.

Ya know it kinda looks like the bodywork of a Triumph X-75 Hurricane. The BSA triple powered Triumph Craig Vetter had a hand in.
