LTD seat to standard seat

I am looking to buy a late 70's or early 80's KZ1000. I see that most of them have the stepped or LTD seat. How difficult is this to change to the standard seat? Is is a direct swap? Can the LTD seat pan be recovered with the foam and cover from a standard seat?

On the 77 to 80 LTD's it is a direct swap with the A models just pull the pins and change the seat the seat from a 76 KZ900 will also swap. On the early 80's LTD's this is not the case it uses a completely different seat.
