Larger KZ750 tank
13 Sep 2007 17:42
I'm happy with my 1980 KZ750 LTD 4 with one exception. I hate having to stop for a fuel up every other day. Has anybody done a tank replacement?
If so please share your story and details of what tank you ended up with. I'm looking at KZ1000 tanks and even tanks from another manufacturer. I don't mind doing mod work, but the less the better. My goal is to get a tank around 20 litres in size.
Thanks.

Hello:
JMKZHI is correct...I don't anything about fitment, but the capacity of the H tank is 12.4 l while that of the E tank is 17.3 l...giving you almost an extra gal...if the tank even fits.

It will bolt up. (I have one sitting on an LTD project right now). However the forks will contact the tank; choices are either to fab up longer steering stops, (bad idea, makes a very wide turn radius); or hammer out some relief areas in the tank, or switch to a front end with "deeper" triple trees. (like a 750 E for example).
82 GPZ 750 / 750 L type tank may fit also, don't know.
