Nice job Barnery. There is no such thing as overkill when it comes down to custom metal work. The stronger, the better.
I had a couple taillight, licence brackets made of the 3/8's aluminum flatbar and they bounced too much. In fact it folded itself upwards after catching the tire when I hit a pothole the the rear shocks compressed.
Now I have a custom bent piece of stainless plate and the sucked it almost impossible to bend by hand.

CGray34, Thanks. I think it's a 73 or 74 tail and light. Rounded rather than the 76 squared off version.

BARNEYHYPHEN
sorry for the delayed answer, I've been out of town.
Here is the link to the site where I bought the taillight.
www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/head_and_tail.htm
It's the taillight all the way on the bottom of the page.
Thanks.

Hey BH,
I trying to do the same mod to mine. It's a G model though with no mount for the "ducktail". I thought of using fiberglass and making a seat, tail combo, then have now way of attaching the light. I am mainly gonna use it for drag racing,so it needs to hold up also. Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated. Here is a pic.
