Turnsignal Fork Relocation For Fairing? was created by Strizzzo
Howdy all - looking to add a standard cafe fairing to my 78 Kz1000. Seems like relocating the turn signals to the forks may be ultimately easier than cutting out the fairing to accommodate them as they exist on the headlight bracket.

Anyone know of good clamps for putting the signals on the frame? I'm not terribly good with cutting plastics (already ruined one of these fairings  )

Also open to any other suggestion on to how to easily add the faring without loosing the turn signals?

Thanks.

i used these clamps

from here:
www.accessoryinternational.com/turnsignals.html

i had to replace the turn signal stem as well. dennis kirk has 3 lengths. i used the medium length ones:

i installed them using some garden hose black rubber washers to provide some shock absorption.

if you ever want to relocate the rear turn signals to accomodate luggage/saddlebags, this bracket works great:

i used the long turn signal stems at the back.

I relocated the front turns on my 80 kz750 LTD. I didn't like 'em on the bars ... soooooo ... I fabricated some L-brackets and moved the things to the lower triple clamp bolts. Brackets were made from 1/8 steel strip and drilled and test fitted .... then I made the little top covers and welded them on ... then I smoothed everything out and my final result came out looking "factory" I think !!! As you can see I also went with much smaller aftermaket lights.
