Removing clear from forks

I am going to polish the aluminum fork legs, the clear coat has started to flake from the stock legs.....is there a good/fast way to remove the original clear coat? I was thinking paint remover but thought I would ask around first....

Aircraft stripper paint remover from wal mart.
Should take about 10-15 just soaking if it's over 70 degrees.
