Painting switch housing

I pulled apart right switch housing and stripped off all the paint down to bare aluminum... I was wondering if anyone has done this before and what kind of paint did you use...

My concern is painting the engraved lettering and my plan is to paint the cases black and then get the yellow, white, and red colors for the lettering - I figure the best way to get the paint in the engraved areas is to drip it in and wipe away the excess but when doing so I don't want the black base coat to wipe off with the excess paint...

I was thinking of using a spray acrylic for the black and then using "craft" acrylic in the squeez bottles to fill in the lettering...

Any help would be great help.

Thanks

if its aluminum id say polish it.
paint the letter before hand and then buff away

you used to be able to get zinc chromate primer, the absolute best primer for aluminum, it will never come off, but in our governments infinate wisdom they created the EPA who systematically did away with anything and everything that did the job it was made for, so now I use etching primer that works OK I guess but has to be topcoated immediatly when dry or it will create problems down the road. you can get this at most auto paint stores
