kz550 seat pan troubles was created by tcbradbury98
okay, i have a problem. I bought a seat pan for my 550 off ebay. It doesn't fit. Is there a difference between the regular seat pan and the ltd? These two pans are a little different but definitely won't fit w/o heavy modifications. Where would the part number be located on the seat pan? Anybody want to trade? thanks

If your 550 is a standard or GPz model, unfortunately the LTD seat pan won't fit without a LOT of modifications as you've already noticed.
Is the orignal seat pan on your bike shot, or is the foam padding or cover just worn/damaged?
Most auto upholstery shops can replace the foam and recover a bike seat in a no-frills pattern for usually less than $100.
I had a seat for my KZ650 done for $65 several years ago, and that included recovering the passenger grab strap.

I have an 1983 kz550 c4 ltd. My seat pan is rusted out around the edges and has cut up my seat foam and cover. I bought this seat pan and didn't realize that the ltd takes a different seat pan. Anybody have a part number or have one to sell or trade? thanks
