That looks great. I used Krylon from Wallys and used Krylon clear. The purple base looked OK but the clear never got a deep look like that Dupli-Color stuff you used. Next time, I will spring for the extra cost and use some better paint. The upside is that I painted the bike purple for about $10 bwhahaha (I gotta get a spray gun!).

Thanks everyone. This was my first go at doing any serious spray painting and I gota say, I was pretty damn pleased with the results. The whole thing cost me about $110 (Primer, paint, sandpaper, clearcoat, buffing compound & turtle wax). Not too bad.
I also took the old scuffed-up badges from the side covers, scrubbed them clean, buffed them on my grinder/buffer then repainted them using model enamel (testors?). Turned our real well.
Thanks again for the great response. I'll try to get some pictures of the tank and side panels this weekend and post on Monday.

Barney, If you didn't think of this yet, The Kawasaki badges on the tank can be stripped clean with stripper, painted gloss, or flat black, or body color, then block sand the edges carefully to remove the paint and restore the raised alloy lettering. Go easy, it's softmetal, and it doesn't take much to get the paint off the edge. Really dolls it up if you use a color other than black to compliment the body paint. In my case, I switched it from flat black to gloss black to match my new paint and it really looks good.

Thanks again for all the compliments. I didn't realize how difficult it would be actually deciding on a color. At first I was going to paint it bright yellow but I had a 325ci in a very similar color to the one I eventually chose and I loved how it looked. The color was Hampsted Green Metalic by Dupi-color and I believe it's a Honda color.
I'll try to post some Tank & sidecover pictures on Monday.
