i just orderd new paint for my 74 Z1 900, i ended up going with super candytone blue which is for the 75 Z1B, but i really like the color, i also orderd the decal set from Z1 enterprises. I also ordered a few other odds and ends. She's coming together im stripping it down to the frame for a repaint, and also taking the black paint off the motor, i like the polished aluminum look.

Oh yea, I love that paint scheme!!:woohoo: :woohoo:
Just curious, do the decals get a coat of clear or anything over them? Were the originals painted or decals?

That's my favorite color of all the Z paint schemes. Unfortunately they only had brown and green available in my year, so I will be going with a nicer green than the original had.
Can't wait to see your bike when the paint is finished!

79 MKII,
The original factory 75 Z1B tail section stripes were both decals. On the tank the lower white stripe and the gold stripe were painted on, and the upper black stripe was painted on but the white outlines were decals. Both parts were cleared over to protect the the decals, but the clear had no UV protectors back then and that is why the candy colors fade away so easily.

hard to believe I went all these years w/o seeing that color. finally last year for the first time and I have to have it. too bad I'm already in the middle of a 77 sky blue resto. (a complicated color to dup as it does not seem to age or photograph well) I hope you keep us posted on your progress. meantime...please please post or better yet pm & share large pics of that 75B1, while I continue my search for one of my own....
