factory painted front fenders over chrome
03 Apr 2007 12:48
Well after 20+ years of doing its thing my paint has about had it.. The urge to redo the paint came from a result of an accidental slipp of a little bit of brake fluid on my front fender.. Lo and behold tho when I discovered the mess.. I found that the factory paint was put on over a chrome fender! now I'm not into shiney fenders as persay..but hey , why look a gift horse inthe pie hole, ehh. So I figure to get some more brake fluid and do the paint removal intentionaly this time with it..Any thoughts? Would aircraft stripper be better?

1980 had a chrome front fender from the factory as far as I remember and in the gallery you can see they are all chrome on 1980 model, painted in 1981. So someone must have painted yours over the chrome. Kawasaki would not be wise to paint chrome and I'd say they didn't do it most likely.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
