how to remove rust from your gas tank?

My tank has really light rust inside of it. When i touch it with my finger it comes off. Anyone know of a good way to remove all the rust from the inside of my tank?

As a preventative, about once a week I put an ounce of rubbing alcohol into my fuel tank before topping off.
It mixes with water, puts it in suspension, and it gets burned with the gas.
It works, been doing it for 30+ years.

I agree, but I have used drywall screws rather than nuts because of the sharp edges. To dry the tank, place the opening over the air conditioner/heater vent and turn on the furnace fan. For this step I have found it best to wait until my wife is out
