I got some of the aircraft paint stripper, and its not doing its job so well, it ate off most of the top coat of paint on my engine, but i think that was rattle can. the stuff under it is waaaay tougher. Im gooping the stuff on, and leaving it by a woodstove in a garage, plenty hot enough for it to work:blink: :( but its not doing much.
Im located centrally in New Brunswick Canada, where can I get glass beading done? and how much is it going to cost me? Ive never had anything like this done before.....
thx everyone

Do you know anybody with a sand blasting cabinet? If so you can buy glass bead at a auto body supply store and do it yourself.. most autobody shops have small blast cabinets that your engine parts should fit into, that could be a option..

You will be happy with the glass bead blasting. It looks great when it's done.

If the under coating is not being effected by the aircraft stripper it would probably make a good substrate, I would wipe it down good with laquer thinner then sand and primer it and go with new paint right over it

when i used aircraft stripper, i laid saran wrap over my tank right after i sprayed it on.
it gives it a chance to work before it dries up.
stripped factory paint right down to bare metal.
give it a shot and tell us if it works for you.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

Steve in Rochester! Great tip with the saran wrap! I have never thought of that before, I have been stripping and painting bikes for 20 years as a hobby.

I lost out on a bike in East Aurora yesterday.
79MKII 2nd owner, runs great, buried in the barn under covers. Last ran in summer of 05. The guy selling it was in Alaska, his ex-wife had it still. 3 weeks in East aurora times and he had no calls $500!!!!!!!!
He put it in the Buffalo News, $500. Canceled add after 1 day.
Flooded with long distance calls.
He Gave names and #'s to his ex-wife. I wasn't her 1st call! I think she got a $500 tip!!! the guy offered her $1000.
That sucks! I lost out!
