I have a 82 gpz 750.I see alot of red mags on these bikes.Mine are black and alum. What gives!!!!

Being as how I had the same question, I'll explain as best as I know. The US export models were sold with the black/alum. wheels while European, Australian, and Japanese KZ750R1 models were sold with red/alum. wheels. The Canadian model is another matter...I'm thinking they might have also had red wheels but all the 1982 Canadian R1's I've seen have all been repainted, including the wheels. My (California origin) R1 also had red wheels but it too had been repainted. There were considerable minor differences between the regional R1's...for example, those sold in Japan were fuel injected...and I have never seen one that has survived...not even on the Japanese bike sites.
