Chain size

How can I tell my chain size to get a sprocket? Ya kno like 530... stuff like that?

mine has 630 on the links, i don't know if this is true with every company though

The stock 900/1000 chain is a 630 but due to modern technology smaller chains are equal in strength today.

I am swaping to 530 X or O-ring chain and sprokets for my turbo Z1 project. Going with a 5/8" offset countershaft sproket to clear a 190 and maybe a 200 rear tire.

Its usually a good idea to replace both sprockets and chain at the same time, whereas if one is bad, it'll take out the other two in a short time.

If you switch from a 630 to a 530 make sure you get a good enough chain (high enough tensile strength to handle the size of the bike) and you should gain a small amount of horsepower from just the conversion.

Talk to Jeff at Z1 Enterprises (link above). In my opinion, he's an expert on this sort of stuff. But be sure and replace both sprockets and the chain at the same time...take my word for it. If either one of the components (chain or sprocket) is bad, it will ruin the new part.
