side cover removal

Is there a special technique when removing the side covers on my 81 KZ750? I don't want to break the tabs. Also, are aftermarket air-filters ok? Can you recommend a place and brand. Thanks, Greg

Open up your seat, look down on each side at the tab/pegs to make sure they have not been wired in place or somehow attached in another way (some owners do that to prevent the covers from flying off). If the pegs are just pushed into the grommets, then just pull them out (straight out). There are occasions when the covers have become brittle with age/weather and the pegs will break....take your time ![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
