if they are the same diameter they would fit the 900 trees but the leading axle style will negatively affect trail

Wagonmaster. I am with you,I like the look of them with mags. I dont actually know about the compatability of the swap, I however think you would have to do the triple clamp with the forks. I had a set of Lester mags on my 76 900 if thats any help.

I have a set of both spoke and mags but the mags has good tires and I need to replace the spokes.
So that is why the change for rite now ok wireman:angry: and I eat with my hands:pinch: but I have the triple trees and the whole front end off a 82 KZ1100 so it sould be a simple fit into the neck of my 78 KZ1000?

Wagonmaster69, it may be easier to get the wheels from the same generation LTD 900/1000 (1976-1980)...they will be a drop-in replacement...all you will have to worry about is setting up the dual disk front brakes.

Look in the Filebase for "Wheel bearing list", it will tell you what bearings fit your 1000 and what will fit the 1100.

There is also a steering bearing list in the Filebase that will tell you what tapered bearings fit your bike and what fit the 1100 fork stem.
