Was wondering how big a tire I could safely fit on a 3.5 x 17 spoke ?

It's a 77 1000a. but it has a old v/h 2 inch over arm on it.clearance shouldn't be a problem.

According to most tire charts, a 3.5" rim is the recommended width for a 150mm tire and the minimum for a 160mm. As long as you have the clearance, go for the 160!
