crash bars or frame sliders?
05 Oct 2006 20:27
Has anyone tried mounting frame sliders like the new sport bikes use or is everyone still using crash bars to protect their cases?

i prefer the keep the bike upright method myself

but the bars are stronger than sliders and our bikes dont have the holes for the sliders

haha, yeah I prefer to keep the rubber on the pave, at least the rear :woohoo: , but just incase, I would like the protection. I realy dont like the look of crash bars, and Im sure I can mount the sliders on it somewhere, it has enough other mods that "shouldn't" be there:evil:

check out the frame sliders available for the zrx1100/1200. I doubt they are direct bolt ons, but their placement and the way they mount could likely be adapted to an older KZ. The ZRX has a simialar type of motor mount and round tube frame. You'd have to adapt something yourself though, I don't think anyone makes a kit for bikes as old as our beloved KZs.
