tank emblem reattachment was created by kswilliams333
Okay. I have a 78 kz1000. just had the tank repainted. someone at one time took the option away to use screws. i guess they covered that option. the tank i have does not have a locking gas cap, and the petcock is a dual. i think maybe the tank is a Z1 tank or something, so i am not sure if they were just adhesive attachment or if there are screws underneath somewhere. How does one know or can i find the screw holes somehow?
I feel so confused...

If it is a Z1 tank there is a raised area with 2 holes for tiny 3mm screws. Most likely that area has been ground, tapped in, and bondo'ed over. You could try attaching them with some super sticky double sided tape or live with the shaved look. Personally I like the sleeper look, your tank looks great!

There are also great looking tank decals available at
www.redlinecycle.com
I put the side cover decals on mine.....detail on them is great and ALOT cheaper than the original badges (if you can even FIND original badges) I definately recommend checking them out....
