Major puncture on Z650...never rains but it pours

Had major rear puncture on way home today. Bit scary but managed to get home eventually. A little shook up but now have a shoddy rear tyre.
Might be able to get a smaller rear wheel off a Z650 SR 16 inch I believe.
Do you think these are a straight swap or is there more to it? As I'll be taking the rear off thought I might as well change it.

Others have switched from and 18" to a 16", but the braking systems and sizes may be different. Is yours a disc or drum brake and what is the 16"'s brake?
