Maybe a stupid question, but I have to ask anyway:
What is the purpose/result of having an extended swing arm. I can guess that for drag racing it helps with torque and changing the center of gravity.
But for general riding, does it help handling? I would guess that it makes cornering a little more difficult.
By the way, I have seen some of the pictures of member bikes with this mod and I think it is really cool, but what else is it for (as if looking cool is not enough).
Thanks all

In what way does it effect handling?
I'm building up a bike and love the look of an extended swingarm, but I wouldnt be so keen of the handling goes out the window.

Leverage, it actually makes it harder for the front end to come up in a hard launch. It also makes it easier to spin the tire if your into that. As for handling, I had an E model 750 with a 5" over arm, handled like a turd, put same arm on an H model 750 and you were on a flawless handling machine. I believe it had to do with rake, trail, center of gravity and riding position but it was purely correct for the bike. As for your application, try it, like it, keep it, if not, sell it. Do have to admit, it does look coolB) .
