rear foot pegs mounts

I was wondering if it would be alright to cut off the rear foot pegs mounts and the loops that connect to the frame(1976 kz750 twin) without causing any problems. I don't think they are any kind of bracing or anything but I don't want to do it and then find out my frame is weak at that point now. I figure I would ask first and be on the safe side.

I took a Sawzall to my Z1 when we went racing and removed all misc brackets and excess metal. If the part is obviuosly just a footpeg bracket go for it. Although this will mean no women can ride on your bike. This does not sound like a good thing.

I am planning to cut off everything I'm not going to need for a street tracker project. As for the passenger, I have 2 other bikes that my wife can ride on with me so this would be an excuse to have a single seater.

On my 750t the peg mounts do not hold up anything structurely, however, they do help hold up the exhaust (mufflers).
