I found out my 78 KZ1000A2 is the Japanees version what is the diffrents in that and the USA version:S

I thought they were the same version, just manufactured at two different locations?

As far As I know the major differences are quite minor. I think that you may have a longer rear fender, perhaps a seat strap, different wattage bulbs and a few other minor tweaks. But everything that fits a US model should fit.

the early 1978 models were the A2. half way thru the year the A2A was released in the US which included emission controls, including a lean carburetion system.
