Hardtail kit for 1979 kz650

Good morning guys! New to the group, just bought a 1979 650 from my neighbor, i got her running after sitting for 10 years! Looking to make a hardtail bobber and wondered if anyone knew of any bolt/weld on kits available for that year

That poor, poor bike.

   May we suggest you remove the shocks & ride with struts for a few thousand miles before making irreversible cuts on a (assuming?) good, stock vintage frame?  Your lower back & kidneys deserve a vote, too.

   Consider also, that a cut frame will result in a bike of greatly diminished in value to the vast majority of potential vintage buyers except as a parts bike.

   If you choose to proceed, find a welder that knows frame welding.  Frames weakened by incorrect weld techniques will hurt you and / or others.

And some insurers - Progressive, for example - will explicitly ask if the bike in question has a modified frame.

I don't know what happens after that (if the answer is yes) because I haven't done any such mods.
