kz1000p fork oil amount and level?

Simple question: Im just wondering how much fork oil i should put into my 1996 kz1000 police forks wet, dry, and measurements for oil level.

I find it confusing because they were only meant to be serviced by a kawasaki dealer so I cant find any information on them even in the manual. Are they the same as kz1000j forks? Any information is helpful so thanks in advance.

the Kawasaki FSM might have the info. afaik there would be a police motorcycle supplement manual that covers your year; plus you'd need the 81-83 kz1000 base manual >> a pdf is available.  from an internet search there's a facebook police forum. but I don't use facebook and didn't check it out . 

Might be getting myself in trouble here so take everything mentioned with a grain of salt. Think "Big Picture" when it comes to damper fluid. This is always a variable regardless of factory specs. What you're looking/aiming for is a balance of Quantity (CC) VS Air within each tube. Too much oil and ride will be harsh over smaller bumps and potential of blowing out the fork seal. Too little and you'll experience fork-dive when breaking. I believe, haven't looked it up but thinking You're original forks were Air-Assist like the Spectre of similar year. A fail safe i've used for years is to complete your rebuild of seals and bushings if needed first. Then bottom shiny chrome tube into lower fully! Don't install your spring! Fill with Your 10-15-20WT fork oil to approx 6" below top of shiny tube. Extend and drop your spring in. Install your upper spring spacer if it had one and screw down/push in your top with circlip. Disregard all this if you can find a manual but the default mentioned might be pretty close.     

The base manuals and supplements dont help front what I have found. The base manual doesnt mention the police models and the supplement just tells you to take the bike to a kaw dealer to service the forks. 

HOWEVER, if anyone has a clymer manual for the kz1000j model engines, those might have some information for the police bikes, so if anyone with a clymer manual could pretty please take a peek, it would mean the world to me.
Asphalt, if all is lost ill have to refer to what you have said, although the police forks call for 0 psi. At that point my guess is to fill them up until they feel the best.

to clarify. an actual "supplement manual" is available for the various 1000P police motorcycles and a police supplement manual is a separate manual from the base manual mentioned above.  there are several police supplemental manuals for the 1000P models. just find one that covers your year. they tend to be pricy on ebaayy. sorry to beat a dead horse. if you already know all this.

Im such a dummy! I was looking at the operators manual!!!! Sometimes I need to take a step back and reprocess things... Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Don't beat a dead horse, beat me! Now... finding a supplemental manual...

I agree with Clay; set the oil level 6" from the top with the springs removed and the forks compressed.  Simple and foolproof.  

This is so silly but I got very lucky! I was looking on ebay for a service manual for a kzp and found a listing with an opened page of the exact info I needed!!!!!  if the image is too blurry, it calls for oil capacity of 264±4cc and an oil level of 157±2mm with the spring removed an the forks fully compressed. 
Edit: here's a couple more pictures that I found!!! Im dreaming! Although it looks like the fitted a couple different springs in the kzp forks.You know what ill be doing tomorrow...
