Hey there friends, I’m back!!!
22 Mar 2026 20:59 - 22 Mar 2026 21:05
It’s been a long long time since I was on this forum. Like ridiculously long. Looks like things haven’t changed too much around here. I just wanted to reintroduce myself and see if there’s still anybody around I might maybe remember if I try to stretch my brain back far enough. It’s been probably about 10 years at least since I visited here. Well I’m back for a big reason. I’m looking for a rear master cylinder for a 79 kz1000 ltd. I’ve looked and looked and can’t seem to find the right one. Unfortunately I don’t have the knowledge so if there’s an aftermarket part that is compatible I just need to be pointed in the right direction. I can’t ask Mellvisracing, we divorced 10 years ago (hence my hiatus). I mean I COULD, we’re still in communication but it’s complicated.
anyway hey there how are yall. I’m glad to be back!!

Yes, welcome back. Send a PM to asphault900 (his name is Clay) as he may have the rear MC you require.

Adding some more stuff that makes a complete package. Often the Rod Assembly is crusty and shouldered bolt to brake pedal is worn and sloppy. Shouldered bolt/castle nut/cotter did not come with purchase of rod, ordered separately. Anyway, pulling crap so you can see. All this stuff is discontinued of course, it's just too old ha. Any hoot something to gainer "Girlfriend points" and banter for just, Shut-up and Kiss me ya man
fool!

Hey! These look promising 😊 Just want to double check—this would fit a KZ1000 LTD late 70s without modification, right? Also is everything there that I’d need to run it, or would I still need to source anything else? And what kind of condition is it in internally—has it been sitting a long time or was it pulled from a running bike? Just trying to make sure I get the right piece the first time 👍
and thanks everybody for the warm welcome back it’s almost like I never left! 🤗

Hey Abbie, having a Great Day? I would like to think! I'd left You a PM with my phone number..Why you might ask?? Just easier to navigate queries and concerns, at least for me. Quick Question though, why do you need a replacement? Is it leaking or won't "pump-up" during bleeding? Is it locked-up, been sitting too long? Any exterior damage? Are you sure it's the 1979B model Master, they changed to a remote reservoir master in 1980. Lots of questions i require to field before i get you either the correct bits or simply rebuild your existing one..if bore where piston goes is still salvageable.
