Speedo cable bracket

Speedo cable bracket

Is this bracket necessary? I can get one I just don't like the looks of it. The cable will run through the fender bracket.

I had to zoom wayyyy in on that pic to see what you were referring to.  Is it 100% necessary?  Probably not, but it appears that it keeps the cable from snagging on the caliper during fork extensions.

There are two loops on that bracket; one for the speedo cable, and I guess the brake line.
The lower portion for the speedo cable broke off on mine.
And as you pointed out, there's another loop/guide on the fender for the speedo cable.
I don't think it's really necessary.
I've had no issue in a few years.
