22 Sep 2025 20:59
Does anyone have a diagram for the rear brake pedal/activation mechanism, i believe that it is rusted together so it wont move, not allowing me to disengage the brake

This is for the 1980 model, but all tha main parts ahould be the same on yours.

It is a pretty straight forward fix, usually.
Get a big can of Kroil or Liqiud Wrench. Spray the pivot on both sides of the frame so that the oil can run along he shaft into the frame.
Spray some on the splined end where the pedal clamps.
With a brass mallet, or with a large hammer and a pice of wood held against the end of the shaft. Give the shaft a few manly whacks.
If it does not move, apply more oil and let it sit over night. Repeat for a few days.
If it is still stuck, it is probably time to remove the pedal, brake light spring and master cylinder clevis pin, and bring in the propane torch.
Lots of oil, some heat, whack, whack, whack,
Once you get the pivot removed, carefully clean the shaft and the hole in the frame where the shaft goes. Apply some high quality grease to the shaft and twist it all around to spread it evenly inside the frame.
Reassemble and ride.
