Z1 muffler fitment
12 Aug 2025 10:00
Hi guys, I’m installing a Doremi replica 4 into 4 on my 75 Z1 im trying to tighten the rear mounting bolt but I find the upper muffler is making contact with the axel nut. I think I have done everything correctly as far I know. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Happens all the time. Your frame A-arm looking rear peg holder has been knocked in. Just bend it back-out, 2X4 or whatever, tire iron chips the paint. A wooden dowel of some sort works fine.

this bike doesn't look Iike it's ever been down on that side. If it is pushed in I think I'll just shim the exhaust mount out.

If you're not a nut and bolt kind of guy just reverse the axle and put the nut on the chain side.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

The bike needn't to ever of been "down" for this to occur. A robust passenger getting on/off can cause it.
