Brake slider placement

Well,  feel kind of stupid having to ask this but here goes. I am replacing the front brake pads on my 440 and I cannot figure out how the brake slider fits. It fell out while taking the caliper  off and I cannot for the life of me figure out how it fits back in. Any thoughts?

there isn't a drawing for all models. but there seems to be two types of front brake caliper for the 440-Ltd. he's probably referencing the pad guide found on the D5 linked below. guessing.

1984 440D5 Ltd Belt.  www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/motor...front-brake-kz440-d5 . later style caliper.

1980 440A1.  www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/motor...a1/front-brake-80-a1 . early style.

That is it. Piece 13070. I guess it is suppose to have two of them but I only have one.
No matter how hard I try; it always drops out.
I have no idea how it is supposed to stay in there.

Well since I was missing on for years and the brakes worked great  and since you can't buy the slider I decided to leave it out. The caliper is back on the bike and the brakes work great. Thanks

The link provided shows them as "in stock" !!! entirely up to you but I don't think "deleting brake parts deemed necc by the manufacturer" is the best course of action. When it comes to fitting you can put a "dab" of copper grease on the back of the guide to hold it in place while you fit the pads

the pad guides clip onto the brake caliper floating slider. one of them oriented as in the diagram. the ss-guides have a smooth surface for the pads to move. if they don't clip in place. try bending/flexing the tabs a smidge. in case it's missing. there's also a pad spring.  from memory. the pad spring provides tension to keep the pads and guides in place.

Thanks. I tried to find them but had no luck. I will definitely be ordering them. And great tip about the grease. Once again I have been saved by this forum.
