I did the same thing.I took the Kerker off of it because of the center stand issue and it was just obnoxious loud and put a delkevic stainless ceramic exhaust on it. Sounds and looks great. I even took the bike up to the shop that ran it on the Dyno when it had the Kerker and had them rerun it with the Delkevic. No changes needed.

Back in 1980 or so when I bought my kerker it was the "Kawasaki by Kerker" version sold through the parts dept at the dealer, so the stand could have stayed, but the arm hung way out to the left - after catching my shin on it (ouch!) walking by a few times it was good-bye to the center stand.

No one envisioned the past 10 years of OEM, restoration of these great Z/KZ big 4cyl; DOHC motorcycles!
As back in the early 80's thru 90's my group scrapped center stands, stock exhaust, frame were cut up for drag bikes, crashed on drunkin' Friday night street racing.
I went thru at least 25 of these bikes, cutting, chopping and scraping etc.
At least I have a lot of memories! No pictures? Back then! 35mm cameras and film was expensive for a young broke dick industrial worker!
I have a few examples

Yeah, back then they were just average used motorcycles, to be traded in or sold to move up to a newer, faster bike. Fortunately I didn't have to sell or trade in my Z1 to get the next several bikes, they've all been sold or traded since but by a stroke of luck I still have the Z1
