Looking to replace the fork tubes.  OEM part number is 44013-1003  (36mm x 588mm according to TNK).  Part number for earlier Z1 - KZ1000's is 44013-037 (36 x 610mm)  I believe I have the dimensions correct.
Has anybody used the earlier model fork tubes in the Mark-II ?  The internals appear interchangeable when looking at the parts diagrams.  I'm thinking I may need to place a spacer inside to make up the difference, and maybe slide the forks up a bit in the triple clamps to replicate the ride height / handling geometry.

Comments/suggestions?

TIA

The internals on the A1 have a different part number from A2 and newer.  I suspect they won't work in a newer bike.  Anything from an A2 and newer have the same part number.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I just went through this on what i'm working with. Part 44013-1003 has captive internals where the earlier tubes have internals held in with a circlip. You could use fork tube 44013-037 but you you need all the internals to go with it.

Not many places carry 44013-1003, I bought mine from OSV. They have them listed on ebay but I went direct to their site which had them at a cheaper price. Google the part and you will see it on ebay for $275 and their site for $199

Much thanks for the tip!!  I had seen them on their ebay store and was procrastinating......  Just ordered them from their website.  Procrastination finally paid off!!
