Just picked up a KE100

Not running. PO thinks is a magneto issue.
Anyone know of a good forum for this bike? It had a long run, mid 70's til 2001. I think it was the last street legal 2 stroke.

Just worked on one of those side valves last year. If You think it's spark issues don't be surprised if the "glued-in" magnets (3) have become loose and possibly ripped to shreds. They had a replacement solid magnet as a replacement. Gotta love those color schemes of that era! Have fun with that!

I had a 99 I bought from a motorcycle riding school.  Paid $300 for it, had less than 200 miles.  Used it as a beer-run bike for a year, then got bored with it.  Also had a 79 KD100 and 76 KX125, both rotary valve.
People want stupid money for the KE's with titles. IMO, its a 100cc moped.

Just a quick update. Got it running last night and went for the first test ride today. The no spark issue was caused by a tiny chip of metal, causing a short between the + wire screw on the points and the grounded stator steel. I still have alot to do and now it is time to start spending some money, (front tire dry rot, fork seals, battery, turn signals, luggage rack and cosmedics).
I got it up to 52mph on a straight level stretch. Not bad with me weighing in at 230lb. Speedometer was dead on verifing with GPS.
I'm planning on this being my little bike I take to Mid-Ohio and Barber. Something small and light to ride around at the events, and get to and from the motels.

It's so often the little things that trip us up, good to hear it's sorted without "breaking the bank"
