76 KZ900 A4 front top brake line was created by Tjpgi
Can anybody tell what the length of front brake 43059-022 is ? I have an A4 with stock handlebars and the line I bought from Australia is too short. The previous owner replaced the upper in 1980 with a line that is way too long. Wanting to replace with proper OEM line.
Thanks
Tom

Different continents had different height bars so the one you bought from Australia probably had stock euro low bars as Australia got the same models Europe got.
US bikes had considerably higher bars as stock so require longer brake pipe from mc to splitter.
If you buy from zpower in the uk you specify for which bars to get correct fit.

The Australian item was 43059-007 so you are right. Before I order the 43059-022, I want to make sure it is long enough since I assume the length of the 43059-022 will be specific to this item number. My handlebars are stock for USA assembled A4.
Thanks

You can take a measurement with a length of wire. Put one end of the wire roughly in the center of the banjo bolt, or the hole it screws into, at the master cylinder, then carefully bend the wire so that it follows the path that the hose will follow. When you get to the banjo on the splitter, mark or cut the wire. You can then straighten the wire and measure it. An old wire clothes hanger will work. If you have something a little less stiff, that would be even easier to use.

I use a length of 1/4" plastic air line to measure brake line lengths. It bends about the same as SS braided lines. Hold one end on the banjo and mark the other end with a sharpie, then pull it out and measure. Afterwards I clean the sharpie mark off and put it away for the next time.

I appreciate the comments, but I was just wanting to know the length of the front top brakeline #43059-022 since this is the OEM in the parts diagram on the Kawasaki website. Measuring the distance from my master cylinder to the lower splitter is not a problem.

If I had one, I’d be happy to measure it.
