Mistake in Kawasaki service manual (KZ440A)?

Hi, I have a KZ440A frame-up project which is mechanically almost all there, which needs a new drive chain. Kawasaki service manual specifies a 530-100 chain. I have an old rusty length of 530 lying around (I use the steel from old chains for various welding projects), and I've just been taking some measurements. I tried the old length of chain. Even with the chain adjusters all the way in, 100 links seems to be too short.
Nevertheless I've ordered a new one. However, it looks like the manual isn't gospel, this time. It's a straight KZ440A1, with original swinging arm as well. So I think when it arrives I might end up returning it right away. By the number of unreached sprocket teeth, it's 4 links short. I think it should be 530-104.

Anyone got a KZ440A who can confirm the drive chain length for me? 100 looks pretty impossible.

Not impossible to have a mistake in a FSM, I discovered a few during my tenure as a Factory Mechanic. They are after all written by humans!

It seems like the manual is in error.  The OEM parts fishe states 104 links.  Check any on-line source of OEM parts, such as Partzilla.

Thanks all. Slightly disconcerting when Kawasaki corp isn't right! Looks like I'll be returning the chain unopened then. 104 links makes perfect sense.
