Isn't that cute! It's a 900 at first glance, similar shapes and proportions, just a bit smaller overall. Does anyone on this board have one?

Z2's are fairly rare in North America.  I don't know anyone who has one, but I know someone who I would consider an expert on them.  His name is John Brookes.  He produced the Z1 Restorer's Handbook, sold on Z Power.  He also ran the website referenced by gd4now.

If someone paid 50k for that one the certainly had more money than sense,  as that is been completely ruined, not beyond redemption though, but not 50k's worth.

Unfortunately with interest rates being so low for a long time now the "uber wealthy" have been throwing their money into the classic vehicle market driving prices Sky high. In the classic car world even the most mundane vehicles are drawing 10x what they were a few years ago, it's driven the prices well out of the reach of the average enthusiast. There now seems to be a thriving industry in classic car restoration and repair as these guys don't do it themselves. At the upper end cars that were around £150k to £200k 10 years ago are now priced into the millions !

I guess I didn't give enough information. The pic I posted of the bike earlier was as bought- before a restoration.  The bike has been restored now and is for sale.  It was restored by Michael Cycles in Huntington Beach, CA.  I will try to post a pic but I am having trouble due to file size.  It is a 1975 Z2 750

I don't agree with your assessment that bike is completely ruined.  Looks like a lot of bolt on stuff that can be removed fairly quickly.
I do agree that it isn't worth 50K in that condition.  But tell me where are you going to find another one?

I'm no expert and I have never seen a Z2 before but I know that there's some collectors that are paying too much for things. We bought a 75' Z1-B last year for $300. It turned out that the motor was seized and it had spent a long time sitting outside in the back yard so it was really rusty. It was intact except for the exhaust but the condition was more than we wanted to tackle so we put it up for sale on Fakebook marketplace after I spent a week cleaning it up. A collector bought it ten minutes after it was listed for $3950. We posted good pictures and an honest description of the bike and the guy still paid the list price. Paul and I were shocked that it sold so fast and for the listing price.
