Fork stem question/part was created by rscone11
good morning gents,
Can someone assist with the order these parts go together? From what I see #40 should be like a dust cover over the bearing and goes below the #4(head steering stem)? Is that correct. Does anyone have a spare #40 (oil seal) since it is no longer available? #39 goes above 40 and 9 on top them the head?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you Texas KZ, so it appears I am missing the upper inner race and the stem cap. Does anyone have these parts available or laying around they could sell. The diagram from partzilla doesn't show available or in the diagram.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Matt, yes I believe those are correct.
@Doctorot , I would be glad to install new but I am unable to find them for sale. Do you have a site? I have searched all the most popular Z1 sites, ZI ent. Z1 power, partzilla, Doremi.
    Thanks.

I have that seal on the headstock. I also have the ball bearings that are needed.

I went back to the breakdown you posted, appears to be a Z1, correct? If so the cap I have isn’t correct. The Z1 is more dome shaped. It’s still available from KHI. Are you looking to upgrade to Timken (tapered) bearings?

I do not know which year and model you have, but AllBalls Racing have bearings for a 1978 Kz1000B in stock. These are tapered roller bearings which most folks prefer to the old ball bearing setup.

It would be easier for folks to offer help if we knew for sure exactly which year and model you have.

I was just posting that thank you.

Here’s an alternate. You can by your choice of brand. Will have to contact allballs to see if they sell the seals À la cart.
