I’ve done some research regarding dual front brakes for my 1977 KZ 1000.  From what I can tell is that you can use the same front brake by reversing a part of it and using a 5/8 MC.  It appears the rotors are a hunk of steel so any recommendations on a lighter set?   Thanks.

The rotors on a dual brake setup are thinner.  You should be able to use the rotors off an LTD version.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I found some EBC rotors for a LTD.  I continue to wonder about calipers and fitment. I need to check and see what the difference is between the LTD  and the standard KZ one.  Thanks.

I have both front rotors from a 77 and up LTD and also a freshly rebuilt 5/8 master cylinder I might consider selling if your interested.

Your 1977 kz1000a uses the same caliper as the kz900 with the hard pipe connector. The calipers are reversible, but the brackets are not. Beyond the 5/8 M/C you will need a dual brake hose splitter or a dual banjo bolt. Also a right hand caliper bracket. Rotors from an LTD any year from ‘76 - ‘80, A dual brake hose kit. Caliper to hub bolts and locking taps. RH hose locating fender bracket, and grommet.

I got your PM, I have everything that's listed in this ebay add plus both rotors from a 77/79 1000 LTD >  ebay 153425065546 The master cylinder in this ebay add is not complete and looks like junk to me. The 5/8 M/C I have is a fresh rebuild and the calipers I have ( both left & right ) need rebuilt and painted but both are in better shape than anything you will find on ebay. $400 for everything I have.

I can clean, paint, and rebuild the calipers for the price of the rebuild kits plus my time to do so.
